The history of Sant’Angelo is strictly connected to Cassino/San Germano. Sant’Angelo was for a long time also an autonomous municipality, regrouped in Cassino in 1860 by decree No. 36 of July 11 of the then King of the Two Sicilies Francis II, [2] then Cassino had about 8000 inhabitants, Sant’Angelo 3000. At that time the town bordered to the north with San Germano (now Cassino), to the east with Cervaro and San Vittore, to the southeast with Rocca d’Evandro, to the south with Sant’Apollinare, and to the west with Pignataro Interamna.
