We are in Marche, in the center of Italy. The region has so much to offer, especially to nature lovers: among mountains, rolling hills and unforgettable beaches it hosts many national and regional parks. Trekking enthusiasts will find many trails to discover; today we take you to the discovery of the beautiful Monte Nerone.
We cross the tributary with a small bridge while admiring the beautiful rock walls that have become destinations for climbing. A path leads us towards the remains of the ancient Hermitage of S. Maria in Morimondo.

Inside the castle, accessible only by guided tour (reservation required), are to be mentioned the courtyard of honor, surrounded by a porch with arches in Doric style, the Apartment of the Golden Lion, the ancient private residence of Brancaleoni consisting of beautiful rooms furnished in sixteenth-century style and the so-called “Escape of Rooms” that characterizes the west wing of the castle, with a series of 11 rooms in succession that allow you to grasp with a single glance the whole front that overlooks the country.
The 8th of September every year takes place the “Procession of the Rocks”, a feast much felt in the country, during which girls dressed as peasants carry the so-called “rock”, cane stick adorned with ribbons colorful, as a gift to the Virgin at the Sanctuary of Santa Maria in Val d’Abisso.

The origin of the name Piobbico dates back to Roman times: following the social war, all the territories that did not rebel against Rome should have obtained the “right of citizenship”. At the end of the social war the territories were centuriated, but the part behind mount Nerone remained excluded from the assignments and remained ager publicus. In the years publicus evolves in plobicus, plobici up to the current Piobbico[5][6].
In addition, there are especially in Mount Nerone important and numerous natural sites, ravines, caves. In a cave were found bones of Ursus spelaeus dating back thousands of years ago. The remains are preserved in the civic museum

Camping piobbico
Forget the hustle and bustle, stress and noise, here life flows slowly and only among the scents and sounds of nature. We are in Bacciardi, a small village that seems to have just come out of the Nativity, a stone’s throw from Piobbico and Monte Nerone, in the Marche region.
About thirty houses, a small square, a small church in the heart of the Marche Apennines and 7 inhabitants, among whom we can count Betty, Lorenzo and their family who have created the Slowcanda Agriturismo.
Slowcanda offers seasonal cuisine with simple ingredients but revisited by Lorenzo. A truly delicious appetizer, hand-rolled pasta and meat from the farms of Monte Nerone. We recommend grilled meat such as Erbequaglia.
